"We're sorry, but Sky Replay is no longer on air. Your favorite shows are still available on Sky." This message greets viewers, leaving them wondering what happened to their go-to channel.
Sky Replay has had a long history, evolving from Sky One Mix in 2002 through several rebrandings, including Sky Mix, Sky Two, and finally Sky Replay in 2020. After five years, the satellite broadcaster has decided to shutter this channel.
The channel's purpose was to provide a second chance for viewers to catch popular shows from Sky Max and Sky Witness. It offered a mix of comedy and drama, with shows like Bondi Rescue, Highway Patrol, and Paramedics filling its schedule.
But here's where it gets controversial... With the removal of Sky Replay, Sky has reshuffled its channel numbers. Sky Max now sits at Channel 109, and Sky Witness has moved to Channel 107 for viewers with the Sky Ultimate TV package on the latest Sky hardware. For Sky Q customers, Sky Max is at Channel 113, and Sky Witness remains at Channel 107.
And this is the part most people miss... Sky's custom software, SkyOS, has a nifty feature called Playlist. With Playlist, you can save shows to watch later, and it even brings together all episodes of a series, regardless of the streaming service. Your viewing progress is synchronized across devices, making it easier than ever to keep up with your favorite shows.
